Spend a Couple Hours »Wii Fit

mii wii fitWiiFit is fun and good for you with those cute little graphics that Nintendo is known for (though I wish our instructors were more wobbly head looking and less realistic) but I have to say, it's not the toughest workout ever – though some of the balance games are hard to master and I never do well when it comes to following dance steps.

Taking virtual jogs with miis and wiis and Nintendo doggies right beside me is quite a joy and the system will also be great for accurately measuring my progress as Jim and I have begin a new summer time get back to eating right and exercising phase.

There is a definite focus on balance, a focus that I think seems foreign to westerners but I hope that, as it promises, will improve my posture.

I haven't gotten any additional games to go with the system yet, but anything called Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party must be fun, right?

Laughs »All your base are belong to us

All your base are belong to us See it here

The History:
1.Toaplan creates the Zero Wing video game.

2.Toaplan releases a port for the Sega Genesis console with the addition of an intro scene, which is then translated into english (very poorly) and released in the United States.

3. Toaplan goes out of business.

4. Someone from a Zany Video Game Quotes website notices the poor translation, and highlights the game.

5. Overclocked.org does a humorous voiceover of the Zero Wing intro in a fake Wayne Newton voice.

6. Dozens of game-related messageboards begin to post quotes from the parody, and images altered to show the phrase.

7. Most of the threads lose interest and die off quickly as the trend is pronounced dead countless times.

8. The Flash movie/video is released with images from the threads and music taken from the original game someone had added the phrase “all your base” to.

9. AYB explosively expands to the general (non game messageboard-reading) public.

10. The original site for the video is shut down within hours due to excessive traffic, and moves to PlanetStarsiege.

11. Lycos ponders how “All your Base” was transformed from obscurity to a top 50 search practically overnight.

12. Mainstream media begin to notice the trend, and stories appear in Time Magazine, USA Today, Fox News, The Los Angeles Times, Tech TV, Wired, and many others.

13. As the 'remix' used in the video goes from 58 hits a day to several thousand per day, mp3.com notices the track has been ripped directly from the video game and pulls the music off their site due to copyright violations. It is later returned unchanged.

14. The trend continues to grow as it expands into nearly every corner of the web.

15. Large websites like Angelfire and Hewlett Packard sneak “all your base” references into their designs.

16. “All Your Base” is pronounced dead several times every day, yet it's 15 minutes of fame continue for some reason…

Web Sites »Thottbot: WoW Database

Thottbot: WoW Database The other day I just could not find the location of this specialized leather working trainer (Peter Galen, the dragonscale leather working trainer). I knew he was in Azshara, but I didn't have the time to fool around looking for this guy in some very dangerous territory. That's where Thottbot comes in. It's not cheating, it's more like a tool to help you maximize the amount of quality time you put into playing WOW.

Spend a Couple Hours »Play D&D

Play D & D This week Dan's character, Nab Dabney, who's made a break with the main land in an attempt to find the bad news roofer who ripped off his mom (according to a nude sketch Nab Dabney's mom made of the roofer, the guy is the spitting image of actor Dennis Farina) fell under the sway of a powerful Genie that had been kept in a plain looking sugar bowl for weeks on end. Then Nab tried to seduce Mike's character, Fucshia Bloodmir, but she cast a charm spell on him and then magically put him to sleep. Oh, and the players all visited a steak house called Mikey's Pump and Rump where the Genie possessed a waitress and laid out its plan for vengeance. There wasn't any fighting, but sometimes those are the best games.

Movies »Joysticks

Joysticks Joe Don Baker (I don't know if you've ever seen “Mitchell”–if you haven't, rent the MST3K skewering right away) wants to close down a video arcade run by a guy who can't have sex or play video games because of what he saw reflected in the darkened screen of a broken Miss Pac console one terrible night. The theme song “Totally Awesome Video Games” brings a smile to my face every time I hear it, as does another awesome song from the soundtrack, “Vidiots”.

Characters called Dorfus and King Vidiot are involved in a video game contest with the future of the arcade on the line. There's a scene where a hot dog gets stuck between a girl's' tits and no one really does anything for like 2 minutes. “Joysticks” is a little hard to find, it will probably never make it to DVD, but we usually watch it at least once a year.
