TV Shows »Denver Broncos Football

meghan ledare bronco fanCertainly there are programs I enjoy more and more frequently than football, but the most choice have largely been covered in this venue.?All the same, I do love football.?Or rather, I love the Denver Broncos.?An incongruous, inexplicable fact.?Such has proved a lesson in the heartache of defeat and the agony of devotion.?

I've no clue when or why this loyalty cultivated, nor a notion how such passion has never found a partner in a boyfriend.?But there it is.?I have painted my face, owned an inflatable bronco party chair and cried real tears at the finale of super bowl XXXII.?And I love to watch the infrequent broncos game that is aired on the east coast, to the irritation of fiance and cats.?It's almost as if they would not jump out of their seat to cheer for anything.

Drinks »French 75

meghan ledare french 75Champagne is a particular weakness of mine so it's little surprise my cocktail of choice should be the most ambrosial of champagne concoctions, the French 75.

Named for the field gun issued Americans upon their arrival in France during WWI, legend has that it's shell casings were used as vessels to imbibe in the medley of canteen cognac and the French champagnes abundant around them.

I prefer to enjoy mine at Bemelmans Bar, my “breakfast at tiffanys” if you will.?Though I'm sure they are just as fine in any bucolic, war torn pasture.

Desserts »Black Forest Cake

black forest and rosesI haven't much of a sweet tooth and truth be told I prefer a dessert like figs and mascarpone to traditional sweets.?But when the occasion demands it, as birthdays will, I have always opted for the black forest cake.?While chocolate cake and cherries are all very good, the lack of traditional frosting in favor of whipped cream is what seals my supreme affection.

Restaurants »Diner

diner brooklynNot just my favorite restaurant, Diner is one of my favorite places to be.?I don't care the naysayers and web-critics…too hip, over-priced, rude, crowded.?I'll have none of it.?I am not hip and the Diner people are simply wonderful.?I've had nothing but one delightful experience after another, eight years worth.?

Never had a bad meal, waiter or waitress, cocktail or conversation.?If I could be married here I would.?It is quite plainly a place that makes me perfectly content.?Moreover, I can walk home and not have spent a fortune.?

I must highly recommend their sister enterprises as well, Marlow & Sons, Marlow & Daughters and Bonita.

Style Icons: Female »Charlotte Rampling

Gorgeous

Being the most gorgeous woman in the world doesn’t hurt any, but Miss Rampling‘s mode is most elegant, sublime and rare.

I cannot recall a single ensemble she has ever worn, yet she is my sole figure of inspiration by grace of carriage and character.

Proof that true style is hardly in the what, but the how.

Style Icons: Male »James Brown

james brownThis one man could likely have filled any and all of these categories, though I find some difficulty imagining him cooking food.?He's the coolest person I can think of with flair that could only have sprung from auntie's brothel.?

I had the good fortune of seeing him in person twice.?During the finale, this hardest working man, a mere 10 feet away, spun around, bound from floor in splits and performed nearly two hours.?Seventy-two years old.?

Never has been seen such style from the dance floor to the early morning newsroom.?I defy anyone to find or possess more pizazz.?Highlights number far too many to assemble here, but I give you two favorites:
The Night Train dance and this drunken TV interview.
